San Antonio Bets on Tech Innovation
Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones launched the Economic Security Advisory Group (ESAG) to boost San Antonio's competitiveness in AI and quantum computing announced.
The ESAG will be led by Rackspace Technology co-founder Graham Weston and includes leaders from UTSA, Texas Research & Technology Foundation, and local tech companies. The group's focus includes developing strategies to attract tech companies, secure federal research dollars, and train a local workforce for these emerging industries. This initiative reflects San Antonio's broader effort to diversify its economy beyond tourism and military spending.
