Harlow murals go big

Local artists teamed up on vibrant new murals in Harlow Town Centre that are already drawing praise and photos from passersby — social posts call the works “wonderful” and show large-scale collaborative pieces brightening the high street . The project reads like a quick urban art win — instant street‑level gallery, great for a walk‑and‑snap outing.

MurWalls Live took place on 14 March 2026 and brought more than sixty street artists into Harlow Town Centre for a one‑day live painting event. (yourharlow.com) Artists concentrated on the Broad Walk hoardings and the old Odeon end of town, transforming construction boards into large-scale panels along the high street. (yourharlow.com) A historical concrete mural by Henry Collins and Joyce Pallot was re‑installed at the Harvey Centre and officially unveiled on 12 March in a partnership involving Harlow Council, the Harvey Centre and Harlow Art Trust. (harlowtowncentre.co.uk) The pop‑up gallery day was organised by MurWalls, the Harlow‑based street‑art collective, working alongside Harlow Council as part of wider public‑art activity. (harlowbusiness.org) Named contributors mapped on street‑art databases include Zebra Pozer, Spry Design, Dread and Gnasher among others, with dozens of individual pieces added to Harlow’s public‑art inventory. (streetartcities.com) The event combined live painting with music and dance — local group Hip Hop Pop performed with ten dancers and a DJ while organisers filmed the day for post‑event videos now on YouTube.
