BART Track Work Disrupts Millbrae Service

BART is carrying out track and train-control work around Millbrae that is changing how riders reach San Francisco International Airport, San Bruno and Daly City this week. The agency said service was reduced to one track between Millbrae, SFO and San Bruno from 9 p.m. Friday, July 31, through the end of service on Sunday, August 2, so crews could install components of a new train-control system. Millbrae, SFO, San Bruno and Daly City are the stations named in BART’s current advisories. A July 27 BART notice said the weekend work zone covered the segment between Millbrae, SFO and San Bruno, while the current alerts page says late-night disruption extends to riders traveling between Millbrae, SFO and Daly City. The Millbrae station page still carries a single-tracking alert describing reduced service between Millbrae, SFO and San Bruno. BART said the weekend single-tracking would add 10 to 15 minutes of travel time for much of the day, with delays reaching as much as 30 minutes on Saturday night. The agency said trains were operating on one track instead of two in the affected segment.
