Steve Richter has been named chief executive of MobileCathLabs, the mobile cardiac imaging business inside Modular Devices, in a leadership change announced April 7. (modulardevices.com) Modular Devices said Richter will oversee companywide strategy, integration, performance and alignment. The company said he brings nearly 30 years in mobile imaging and healthcare services. (prnewswire.com) Before taking the top job, Richter was president and general manager of Esaote North America. Modular Devices said he also held senior roles at Philips, Center for Diagnostic Imaging, now Rayus Radiology, and Probo Medical. (modulardevices.com) Mobile cath labs are movable heart-imaging and procedure suites that hospitals can lease when a permanent lab is full, under renovation, or not yet built. Modular Devices says its imaging business supplies short- and long-term mobile and modular labs to health systems across the United States. (modulardevices.com) The appointment lands less than a year after Modular Devices bought Transcend Imaging, the company Richter founded. Modular Devices announced that investment on July 24, 2025, and said Richter had served as an adviser since the deal. (thepilotnews.com) Modular Devices traces its roots to 1987 and describes itself as a provider of mobile and modular medical imaging equipment, laboratory space and cleanroom solutions. Its portfolio now includes imaging, cleanrooms, Interim Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiac Services, Catalina Imaging, Flow Cleanrooms and Supply, Technical Air Products and TDC Trailer. (markets.financialcontent.com, prnewswire.com) The leadership shuffle also moved Mark Koers into the role of president of imaging and healthcare solutions. Modular Devices said Koers, who has been with the company since 2007, will focus on operations and growth across mobile imaging and mobile cleanrooms. (modulardevices.com) For hospitals that rely on rented imaging and procedure capacity, the change puts an executive with a long résumé in mobile imaging at the center of Modular Devices’ cardiac lab business. The company framed Richter’s job as the next phase of growth after recent acquisitions and integration work. (morningstar.com, modulardevices.com)
