The Seychelles archipelago is experiencing a significant tourism boom, with visitor arrivals in late 2025 surpassing 2024 numbers weeks ahead of year-end. The country recorded 398,841 visitors by the close of 2025, a 13 percent increase over the previous year and more than triple the arrivals seen during the pandemic in 2020. This surge in tourism is a vital economic driver for the nation, as the industry is the most significant non-government sector. Approximately 15% of the formal workforce is directly employed in tourism, with related sectors like construction and transportation also heavily reliant on it. Key markets driving this growth include Germany, France, and Russia. Aaliyah Kashyap is a 24-year-old YouTuber and social media influencer. She is the daughter of well-known Indian film director Anurag Kashyap. Her trip to the Seychelles with friends was documented on her YouTube channel, where she mentioned staying on the man-made Eden Island. Kashyap's visit came ahead of her wedding festivities. She married her long-time partner, Shane Gregoire, in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Mumbai in December 2024, followed by a Christian ceremony in New York in July 2025. The 115-island nation is famed for unique natural attractions, including the UNESCO World Heritage site Vallée de Mai on Praslin island. This is one of only two islands where the rare Coco de Mer palm grows naturally, producing the world's largest seed. Popular destinations for tourists include the main island of Mahé, home to the capital, Victoria, and the lively Beau Vallon beach. The island of La Digue is renowned for what is often considered one of the world's most beautiful beaches, Anse Source d'Argent, characterized by its iconic granite boulders. Island-hopping between these granitic inner islands is a common way for visitors to experience the archipelago's diversity.
