RedCloud Activates Agentic AI Layer
Global trade infrastructure company RedCloud has surpassed 100,000 customers and announced the activation of its agentic AI layer across its network. The milestone signals a significant scaling of its intelligent infrastructure for retailers, wholesalers, and distributors in global trade markets.
London-based RedCloud, founded in 2014 by CEO Justin Floyd and Soumaya Hamzaoui, aims to create an intelligent operating system for global trade, focusing on the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector in emerging markets. The company's platform connects retailers, wholesalers, and distributors, with Nigeria being a key source of revenue. The activation of its agentic AI layer embeds intelligence directly into the transaction process, moving beyond simple analytics. This layer is designed to autonomously optimize inventory management, working capital allocation, and demand forecasting across its network, leveraging technology from partners like NVIDIA and AWS. The network now includes over 6,700 brands and has facilitated more than $6.91 billion in cumulative trade value. In the first half of 2025 alone, RedCloud's active retailer base grew by 110% year-over-year to 68,089 customers, while its active distributor count increased by 136%. RedCloud Holdings plc is publicly traded on Nasdaq under the ticker RCT. The company reported preliminary 2025 revenue of $53.7 million and has raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $120 million, citing momentum from joint ventures and platform adoption. To fuel its growth, the company has pursued a strategy of raising capital through structured equity and convertible debt, recently securing a $13.5 million private placement, a $30 million equity line of credit, and a $4 million convertible note financing. However, financial analyses note the company faces challenges with negative profitability margins despite its revenue growth.
