Hotel Okura Manila said its Yamazato restaurant has been included in the Michelin Guide 2026 as a Michelin Selected restaurant. (guide.michelin.com, manilatimes.net) The Michelin Guide’s first Philippines edition, covering Manila and Environs and Cebu for 2026, was unveiled on October 30, 2025. Michelin’s full list says Yamazato was part of the Selected addresses for that inaugural guide. (guide.michelin.com, gmanetwork.com) Michelin Selected is the guide’s category for restaurants its inspectors recommend even if they do not hold a star or Bib Gourmand distinction. In the 2026 Philippines guide, Michelin listed 74 Selected restaurants alongside starred and Bib Gourmand picks. (guide.michelin.com, tripzilla.ph) For Hotel Okura Manila, the restaurant nod lands as the property marks its fourth anniversary in April 2026 with a campaign built around dining and stay packages. The hotel announced the promotion under the theme “Four Years of Timeless Omotenashi,” using the Japanese term for hospitality. (manilatimes.net, tribune.net.ph) The hotel is also pointing to a second accolade this year: Tatler Philippines included Hotel Okura Manila in its Tatler Best 10 Hotels in the Philippines 2026 list, published on March 17, 2026. Tatler’s directory page for the property labels it “Tatler Best 2026.” (tatlerasia.com, tatlerasia.com) Yamazato is Hotel Okura Manila’s signature Japanese fine-dining restaurant in Pasay City’s Newport World Resorts complex, near Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The restaurant serves kaiseki, sushi, teppanyaki and other Japanese formats, and the hotel markets it as one of Manila’s top Japanese dining rooms. (hotelokuramanila.com, guide.michelin.com, hotelokuramanila.com) Michelin’s restaurant page describes Yamazato as a tranquil dining room with a main space, sushi counter and private teppanyaki room, each requiring advance booking for some formats. Michelin also highlights dishes including Kurobuta kakuni, tamago yaki and themed lunchtime bento boxes. (guide.michelin.com) Hotel Okura Manila said the Michelin and Tatler recognitions support its push to position the property as a destination for Japanese luxury hospitality in the Philippines. Four years after opening in Newport, it is tying that pitch to the one part of the business Michelin judges directly: the food. (manilatimes.net, hotelokuramanila.com)
