Vancouver Opens Massive Food Plaza
Vancouver just soft-opened what's being called the "largest food cart plaza in America" on the city's east side. The plaza hosts a vast array of carts and cuisines, promising a bustling, eclectic dining destination as warmer weather approaches.
The newly opened Vancouver Station is located at 1817 SE 164th Ave. This project was undertaken by developer Tai Dang, who is also associated with a sister location, the Hillsboro Downtown Station. The plaza is a significant development for the area, transforming a previously underutilized space near landmarks like Big Al's and Gustav's. With space for 44 food carts, the plaza is being touted as the largest in the United States. The design features an 8,000-square-foot indoor building that includes a dining area, a commercial kitchen, a coffee stand, an ice cream shop, and a bar. This large central hub aims to provide a comfortable dining experience year-round. While the soft opening has already taken place, the grand opening for Vancouver Station is anticipated in the spring of 2026. Currently, not all of the 44 spots are filled, with only a handful of carts operating initially. The delay in full occupancy is attributed to the lengthy permitting process for new vendors. The plaza offers more than just food, with plans for live music, DJs, and trivia nights. The two-story central hub also features a full bar operated by Vancouver Station. This model of a large, centralized food and entertainment venue is something the developers have experience with from their Hillsboro location.
