TCL Added to Hang Seng Index

TCL Electronics has been included in the Hang Seng Composite LargeCap & MidCap Index. The addition to the prestigious benchmark recognizes the company's growing market capitalization and influence in its sector.

This promotion from the Hang Seng Composite SmallCap Index will officially take effect on March 9, 2026. The move is anticipated to enhance TCL's stock liquidity and attract more attention from international and domestic institutional investors, potentially leading to greater capital inflows. TCL has solidified its position as a top-two TV brand globally by shipment volume. In 2024, the company dominated the market for 85-inch and larger TVs with a 22.1% market share. It also secured the top spot in Mini LED TV shipments, commanding a 28.8% share of that premium market segment. The company's focus on high-end, large-screen televisions has fueled significant growth. In the first three quarters of 2025, TCL's global shipments of Mini LED TVs surged by 153.3% year-over-year, reaching 2.24 million units. Shipments of TVs 65 inches and larger also saw a substantial 25.8% increase during the same period. Financially, TCL Technology reported strong growth, with a forecasted adjusted net profit for 2025 expected to be between approximately HKD 2.33 billion and HKD 2.57 billion, a year-over-year increase of about 45% to 60%. For the first half of 2025, the company's revenue reached HK$54.777 billion, a 20.4% increase from the previous year. A significant strategic move is the formation of a joint venture with Sony's home entertainment business, expected to begin operations in April 2027. TCL will hold a 51% controlling stake, managing everything from product development to manufacturing and sales, while products will continue to carry the Sony and BRAVIA brand names. This partnership leverages TCL's manufacturing scale and supply chain efficiencies with Sony's renowned picture and audio processing technology. The move is aimed at enhancing TCL's position in the premium market and challenging the dominance of competitors like Samsung.
