Russia is reportedly considering direct military action in the Iran conflict after a US-Israeli strike on a Russian diplomatic mission [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEmV_wbk0Y8, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51hDHglL-JQ]. This could destabilize the region and reshape global priorities.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that U.S.-Israeli airstrikes damaged the Russian consulate in Isfahan, Iran over the weekend. The attack, which took place on Sunday, targeted a nearby government building, shattering windows and causing minor injuries to staff. Russia has strongly condemned the U.S. and Israeli strikes, calling them "unprovoked acts of armed aggression". Moscow is urging all parties to de-escalate and return to negotiations. Maria Zakharova, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, said that the civilian death toll from the strikes is in the thousands. Reports indicate Russia is sharing intelligence with Iran to help them target American forces in the Middle East. This includes the locations of American warships, aircraft, and other military assets. However, U.S. officials have downplayed the extent of Russia's influence. Despite the damage and rising tensions, Russia seems disinclined to enter into a direct military confrontation with the U.S. and Israel. Instead, they will likely calibrate their actions to maintain their credibility as a counter-Western partner. Russia's main focus remains on the conflict in Ukraine.
