The Fall 2026 collection, titled "The Sphinx," continues creative director Daniel Roseberry's exploration of contradiction and enigma, a core tenet of the house. Roseberry, an American who joined the Parisian couture house in 2019, has been credited with the brand's powerful resurgence. He is the first American to lead a French couture house. This latest collection featured specific surrealist details like blouses with gold buttons shaped like a head, bust, and feet, and silky gowns with literal keyhole cut-outs. Roseberry also played with materials, creating tops from crushed CDs and ferocious-looking kitten heels designed to resemble a hissing cat. These pieces follow his established pattern of blending anatomical and surreal elements with sharp tailoring. The brand's founder, Elsa Schiaparelli, was a dominant figure in fashion between the two World Wars and a chief rival to Coco Chanel. She was deeply embedded in the Dada and Surrealist art movements, famously collaborating with artists like Salvador Dalí on iconic pieces like the Lobster Dress and the Shoe Hat. After closing its doors in 1954, the house lay dormant for decades before being revived. The brand's recent trajectory has seen significant growth; in 2023, revenues surged past €38 million, more than double the previous year, signaling a strong commercial rebound under Roseberry's direction.
