New electronic music festival coming to Indio
October will see the debut of “Head Trip,” a two-day electronic music festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, featuring Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia reported.
Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella, is organizing this new event. Head Trip is scheduled for October 10th and 11th and is promoted as a one-time-only event. The single-stage festival promises no overlapping sets, aiming for a unique experience for electronic music fans. In addition to the headliners, other artists include Skrillex, Peggy Gou, Four Tet, Dom Dolla, and KETTAMA. The festival will also host the U.S. debut of Floating Points' Sunflower Sound System, featuring a unique dome tent with custom acoustics and art. Romain Pissenem, known for his work with Ibiza megaclubs, is handling the production design. Events like Coachella significantly boost Indio's economy, generating substantial revenue for local businesses. In 2024, visitors spent $813 million in Indio, resulting in a total economic impact of $1 billion. The Empire Polo Club is a versatile venue that hosts various events, including music festivals, sporting events, and corporate gatherings.
