Voice actor declines Mega Man role.
The voice actor for Mega Man declined to reprise his role due to lack of union contract protections, spotlighting labor rights debates SAG-AFTRA issues a Do Not Work Order against Capcom for "failing to initiate the signatory process".
Ben Diskin, who voiced Mega Man in *Mega Man 11*, announced he won't be reprising the role in *Mega Man: Dual Override*. He stated Capcom offered him the role only if he worked without union protections. SAG-AFTRA issued a "Do Not Work Order" for *Mega Man: Dual Override* because Capcom didn't initiate the signatory process required to hire union actors. The union warns that members who violate this order could face fines or expulsion. Diskin said Capcom assured him there were AI protections in place, but he couldn't enforce them without a union contract. He expressed concern about the increasing use of AI to save money in the gaming industry, especially amidst layoffs and uncertainty. He also mentioned he would have accepted a lower-budget union contract. The "Do Not Work Order" could affect much of the *Mega Man 11* cast, including Erica Lindbeck, who played Roll. *Mega Man: Dual Override* is still scheduled for release in 2027.
