Pricer Unveils New Retail Shelf Platform

Pricer is set to showcase its new Pricer Avenue™ communications platform at the EuroShop 2026 trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company said the platform is designed to create high-impact, dynamic experiences at the shelf-edge for retailers, focusing on prioritized areas of the store.

- The global market for electronic shelf labels was valued at over $2 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow significantly, driven by the increasing trend of retail automation and the need for dynamic pricing. - Pricer's year-end report for 2025 indicated a decrease in net sales to SEK 2,147.9 million from SEK 2,558 million in the prior year, with net income falling to SEK 1.3 million from SEK 131.9 million. - A key feature of the Pricer Avenue platform is its battery-free design; the labels are powered continuously by a central rail, which reduces environmental impact and the operational cost of managing batteries. - The system allows multiple labels to be linked into a "Floating Canvas," creating large, cohesive digital displays for brand storytelling or promotions right at the shelf. - Pricer, founded in Sweden in 1991, is a long-standing leader in the digital shelf-edge solutions market, having deployed over 630 million electronic shelf labels in more than 52,000 stores globally. - The platform is designed to be integrated with Pricer Plaza, the company's cloud-based software for managing and monitoring the in-store digital system. - Instead of a full-store replacement, the company is advocating for a targeted deployment of Pricer Avenue in high-value and promotional areas where enhanced communication can have the strongest impact. - The launch venue, EuroShop, is the world's largest retail trade fair, held every three years; the 2026 event is its 60th anniversary and will host around 1,800 exhibitors from over 60 nations.
