Dylan Holloway's Hat Trick Lifts Blues

Dylan Holloway returned from injury to record a hat trick and assist in the St. Louis Blues' 5-1 victory over Seattle Kraken. Holloway had missed 23 of the previous 24 games before his explosive offensive performance, while Pius Suter added three points in the dominant showing.

Dylan Holloway's four-point night came in his first game back after being activated from the injured reserve list. The 24-year-old forward had been sidelined with a high ankle sprain suffered in a practice session. The road back was not smooth for Holloway, who had previously tried to return from the same ankle injury on January 18 against the Edmonton Oilers. After playing in that single game, he was forced back out of the lineup, admitting he "jumped the gun" on his recovery. This injury-plagued season is a stark contrast to Holloway's breakout 2024-25 campaign, his first with the Blues, where he posted 63 points (26 goals, 37 assists) in 77 games before that season was also cut short by an injury. While Holloway's return was a bright spot, the Blues have struggled this season. The victory moved their record to 21-28-9, which still leaves them in last place in the Central Division. The win did little to change the team's larger reality, as St. Louis sits 12 points out of a playoff spot. Consequently, the organization is expected to be a "seller" ahead of the NHL's trade deadline. The defeat marked the second consecutive loss for the Seattle Kraken. The Kraken are currently 3rd in the Pacific Division with a record of 27-20-9.
